Fourth Grade Curriculum
Language Arts
Students
will be taking the Florida Writes portion of the FCAT this year. Therefore,
writing is a major part of the 4th grade curriculum. Students will
learn the following skills:
- How to read
and write from a given prompt
- How to use
prewriting strategies to generate ideas and formulate a plan before
writing
- How to write
an expository and narrative essay
- Write a draft
appropriate to the topic, audience, and purpose
- Revise and
refine a draft for clarity and effectiveness
- Edit and
correct the draft for standard language conventions
- Write a final
product for the intended audience
- Creative

- Different

Science
- Earth Science-Water

Social Studies
The
4th grade Social Studies covers all of Florida History. Including
the Geography of Florida, Native Floridians, Explorers, Colonization,
Statehood, Economic Growth, Modern Florida, and Government
